Country Representative – Remittance Business Development

About the role

The Country Representative will lead the expansion of Ria's remittance network in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to the Africa Managing Director, the role focuses on building strategic partnerships with payout agents, correspondents and financial institutions to ensure reliable, cost‑effective and compliant money‑transfer corridors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and engage potential money‑transfer correspondents, including foreign banks and local payout agents.
• Negotiate commercial terms, fee structures and service‑level agreements under the guidance of the Managing Director – Africa.
• Maintain regular communication with existing partners to ensure high service quality and explore network expansion.
• Conduct market research to pinpoint high‑demand remittance corridors and underserved regions.
• Support the development and implementation of growth strategies for the DRC market.
• Coordinate with internal Compliance and Legal teams to verify AML and KYC compliance of partners.
• Liaise with the Central Bank of Congo on regulatory requirements and manage related documentation.
• Guide new partners through onboarding, technical integration and operational setup.
• Monitor correspondent performance, reporting on transaction success rates, speed and pricing.
• Gather partner feedback to improve Ria’s value proposition.

Required profile

• Fluent in French with proficiency in English.
• Strong understanding of the financial sector in Central Africa; experience in the DRC is a plus.
• Proven expertise in business development and partnership management.
• Leadership ability to drive network growth and manage cross‑functional collaboration.
