Delegate, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support

About the role

The Delegate will support and strengthen the mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) capacity of the Democratic Republic of Congo National Society (CRRDC) during the Bundibugyo virus disease emergency. Working closely with IFRC MHPSS staff and national focal points, the role will lead assessment, programme development, technical support and coordination of MHPSS activities throughout the response and recovery phases.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct coordinated assessments, planning, monitoring and evaluation of MHPSS programmes in line with IFRC guidelines.
• Develop an Emergency Plan of Action with budget recommendations and ensure referral pathways are established and up‑to‑date.
• Provide direct technical supervision, mentorship and capacity‑building to IFRC MHPSS staff, volunteers and the National Society focal point.
• Advocate for the integration of MHPSS into multi‑sectoral humanitarian response and coordinate with partners and movement agencies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mental health and psychosocial support within humanitarian emergencies.
• Ability to work closely with national Red Cross societies, coordinate multi‑stakeholder interventions and provide technical guidance.

Required skills

• Psychological First Aid (PFA) implementation.
• M&E of MHPSS programmes.
• Rapid multi‑sectoral assessment methodology.
