Ebola Health Coordinator

About the role

The Ebola Health Coordinator will lead the technical implementation of Medair’s Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Reporting to the Ebola Projects Coordinator and working closely with the in‑country Health and Nutrition Advisor, the role represents Medair at senior coordination meetings and ensures the organisation’s strategic positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Medair in high‑level external coordination meetings with partners and stakeholders.
• Provide strategic technical supervision of Ebola activities in Medair‑supported health facilities and treatment centres in Ituri and Nord Kivu.
• Build capacity of Medair staff and health‑facility workers on Ebola protocols and infection‑prevention measures.
• Integrate Ebola preparedness into routine health, nutrition and WASH programmes.
• Ensure quality of medical care complies with WHO and national guidelines; develop policies, guidelines and protocols as needed.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor degree; MSc in Public Health is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience, including at least 1 year in humanitarian emergency contexts.
• Experience managing public‑health programmes; specific experience with Ebola, VHF or other infectious‑disease outbreaks preferred.
• Fluent in English and French (spoken and written).
• Strong knowledge of humanitarian principles, Sphere and CHS standards.
