Ebola Response Consultant – Epidemic Preparedness

About the role

PATH is seeking experienced Ebola Response Consultants to join its STRIDES project. The role involves short‑term, field‑oriented assignments of up to six weeks in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, supporting surveillance and outbreak response activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for public health surveillance and field epidemiology related to Ebola.
• Support case detection, alert management, contact tracing, and outbreak investigation.
• Strengthen health‑information systems, data management, and reporting dashboards.
• Apply GIS and spatial epidemiology tools for geographic analysis of transmission.
• Deliver training, mentoring, and supervision to local response personnel.

Required profile

• Subject‑matter expert in infectious‑disease surveillance or epidemiology.
• Proven experience working in complex, rapidly evolving outbreak environments.
• Ability to operate with limited supervision and adapt to field conditions.

Required skills

• Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis.
• Data analysis and visualization for outbreak reporting.
• Health information system management.
