Field Monitor – USAID Central Africa Monitoring Project (DRC)

About the role

The Central Africa Regional Third‑Party Monitoring (CART) project, funded by USAID, is seeking DRC citizens to join a field monitoring team. Monitors will travel to Eastern provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to verify humanitarian program activities and collect data for analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in project trainings to learn data‑collection instruments and sampling methods.
• Apply the approved sampling approach in the field to select respondents.
• Conduct site visits and record all required information using tablet‑based questionnaires.
• Follow detailed interview instructions and ensure accurate completion of administrative and content sections.
• Submit collected data promptly for central processing and analysis.

Required profile

• Citizenship of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to Ituri, North and South Kivu, Tanganyika, and Kasai provinces.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills sufficient for questionnaire completion.
• Ability to work under supervision of a Field Team Supervisor.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tablet‑based data‑collection tools.
• Understanding of survey sampling techniques.
