Finance Officer – Global Health Security Project

About the role

RTI International is seeking a Finance Officer to support the Global Health Security Project in Kinshasa. The role ensures financial compliance, accurate reporting, and effective disbursement of project funds while operating in a challenging environment affected by Ebola.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain financial security by following internal controls and safeguarding confidential data.
• Prepare and process payments, verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
• Conduct preliminary reviews of expenses to ensure compliance with RTI policies and project agreements.
• Enter daily transaction details into QuickBooks, assigning correct billing codes.
• Update accounts payable, verify invoice payments, and ensure proper expense coding.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and budget reports.
• Support cash management, vendor payments, and consultant reimbursements.

Required profile

• Experience in financial management and accounting, preferably in international development or health projects.
• Familiarity with internal controls, budgeting, and financial reporting standards.
• Ability to work onsite in Kinshasa and travel to provinces as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
