Head of Human Resources

About the role

The Head of Human Resources reports directly to the CEO and leads the HR function for FINCA Impact Finance in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This senior position is responsible for developing and executing HR strategy, overseeing all HR operations, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives, covering talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
• Oversee recruitment and selection processes at all levels, maintain up‑to‑date job descriptions, and manage the performance management cycle.
• Design and manage variable pay, merit, and bonus programs, and ensure payroll, benefits, and tax compliance.
• Lead staff development, retention programs, and succession planning while acting as a liaison between staff and management.
• Maintain HR policies, procedures, and HRIS data quality, and produce required reports for local management and global HR.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HRM or related field; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of HR experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role within a large international organization.
• Proven experience in recruiting, compensation & benefits, and training coordination.
• Strong knowledge of local labor laws and ability to manage multiple projects with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HRIS platforms.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office.
