Head of Office (D1) – Democratic Republic of the Congo

About the role

The Head of Office will lead the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. OCHA is part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies. Its mission is to mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors to alleviate human suffering, advocate for the rights of people in need, promote preparedness, and facilitate sustainable solutions. OCHA ensures there is a framework within which each actor can contribute to the overall response efforts. This is a temporary appointment within the Crisis and Response Division (CRD). Under the overall supervision of the Director of the Crisis and Response Division, the incumbent will support OCHA's strategic objectives in the DRC. The office is located in Kinshasa, DRC.

• Report to the Deputy Director of the CRD, West and Central Africa Branch.
