About the role
The Health Coordinator will support IFRC’s response to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, leading community‑based activities, surveillance and infection‑control measures.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate door‑to‑door awareness campaigns and counter misinformation.
- Encourage early care‑seeking and support safe, dignified burials.
- Strengthen community‑based surveillance and infection prevention and control (IPC) practices.
- Work closely with national Red Cross societies, governments and partners to mobilise resources and surge capacity.
- Facilitate cross‑border preparedness and logistics for containment efforts.
Required profile
- Experience in health emergency or humanitarian response.
- Knowledge of Ebola or similar infectious disease outbreaks.
- Ability to work with volunteers and local communities.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
