Health Project Manager

About the role

Medair is seeking a Health Project Manager to lead and oversee health interventions for conflict‑affected populations in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The role is field‑based in Bunia and focuses on rapid response to crises, ensuring quality primary health care delivery and coordination with partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, lead, monitor and evaluate health projects, ensuring they meet objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate rapid assessments and short‑term interventions in response to emerging crises, working closely with the WASH team.
• Manage primary health‑care staff to uphold international quality standards.
• Facilitate beneficiary participation and liaise with stakeholders, including MOH staff and UN agencies.
• Contribute to the design of new health project proposals, reports and an overall health strategy.
• Oversee procurement and distribution of PHC pharmaceutical supplies and maintain an effective referral system.
• Supervise training, coaching and behaviour‑change communication activities for health‑centre staff and communities.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing health projects in humanitarian or conflict settings.
• Strong leadership and ability to work in insecure, remote environments.
• Excellent coordination skills with NGOs, government bodies and UN missions.
• Capacity to monitor and evaluate project outputs and impact.
