Health Project Manager

About the role

Medair is seeking a Health Project Manager to lead and oversee health interventions for conflict‑affected populations in eastern DRC. The role combines emergency response, project management, and staff supervision in a challenging security environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, lead, monitor and evaluate health projects, ensuring they meet objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate rapid assessments and short‑term interventions with the WASH team and other stakeholders.
• Provide leadership for health and nutrition activities, including emergency response, training, coaching and supervision of Ministry of Health staff.
• Manage project budgets, approve expenditures, track expenses and prepare financial forecasts.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting, contribute to new proposal development and maintain communication with health clusters and partners.
• Oversee logistics, procurement and supply chain for medicines, equipment and field support.
• Monitor security situation, enforce safety procedures and support team wellbeing.

Required profile

• Clinical degree or diploma (nurse, midwife, doctor) or a Public Health degree.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification medical or nursing experience and at least 1 year of management experience in a health context.
• Experience working in a developing country and aptitude for community mobilisation.
• Strong English and French communication skills (spoken and written).
• Knowledge of humanitarian principles, Sphere and HAP standards.
