Logistics Associate (Temporary) – DRC Ebola Response

About the role

UNICEF is recruiting four Logistics Associates on a six‑month temporary contract to support the Ebola emergency response in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role is based in Kinshasa with possible deployment to Bunia, Beni or Butembo and focuses on ensuring the timely movement, storage and last‑mile delivery of critical supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage in‑country logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory control and distribution of programme commodities.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and support rapid response logistics for infection‑prevention and control (IPC) supplies.
• Collaborate with partners, government authorities and UNICEF teams to ensure effective coordination and reporting.
• Supervise lower‑level staff and contribute to the design of improved logistics processes.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education.
• Relevant professional or university courses in logistics, supply chain or related fields.
• Experience in logistics or warehouse management, preferably in humanitarian or emergency contexts.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to complex situations and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
