Logistics & Procurement Officer

About the role

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is seeking a Logistics & Procurement Officer to be based in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role supports the Kinshasa Delegation’s operations across the Ituri region, including the Ebola response, ensuring that all logistics and supply activities are delivered efficiently, cost‑effectively and in line with IFRC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Process procurement requests and review procurement files to ensure full compliance with IFRC procurement procedures.
• Coordinate the acquisition, storage and distribution of goods and services required for humanitarian programmes.
• Monitor logistics performance, guaranteeing timely delivery, cost control and quality of services.
• Provide logistical support to National Societies and IFRC programmes, including frequent deployments to field sites.
• Report to the Operations Manager in Bunia and liaise with the Supply Chain Coordinator for Ebola in Nairobi.
• Uphold IFRC’s zero‑tolerance policies on misconduct, safeguarding and integrity.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics, procurement or supply‑chain management within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Ability to work in challenging environments and travel frequently to remote locations.
• Strong understanding of IFRC policies, procurement regulations and humanitarian standards.
• Excellent organizational and reporting skills.
