Maintenance Technician (LPG)

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will ensure safe and efficient operation of LPG depot facilities. You will be responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, and compliance activities while supporting regional depots and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance work on LPG equipment safely, on time and to required standards.
• Document site inspections, breakdowns and corrective actions with photos and forward them to senior engineers.
• Manage customer queries via SharePoint, keeping open queries under ten and no older than two weeks.
• Ensure non‑conformances are addressed within allocated timelines and that planned maintenance follows legislative, OEM and best‑practice schedules.
• Inspect Totalgaz installations annually and report any non‑conformances.
• Maintain orderly storage of recovered assets, new and re‑validated equipment, and uphold workshop housekeeping.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors for spares procurement and installation.
• Assist in technical training for staff and clients on LPG depot operations.
• Prepare monthly reports on vehicle kilometres, inspections, tools, overtime and outstanding works by the 7th of each month.

Required profile

• National Diploma (S4, N4‑6) in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a recognized trade test (red seal).
• Registered industrial maintenance technician or in process of registration with LPGASA.
• Minimum 3 years experience in the petroleum industry, preferably LPG.
• Strong knowledge of unit operations such as cylinder manifolds, vaporizers and storage tanks.
