Mechanical Foreman – Conveyor Belt Systems

About the role

The Mechanical Foreman will lead the maintenance, repair and refurbishment of the conveyor belt system at the Kamoa Copper Mine. You will supervise a team of artisans to ensure continuous, reliable operation of critical mining equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, monitor and control maintenance programmes for conveyor belts and associated machinery.
• Supervise and coordinate artisans across multiple trades, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Maintain continuous operation of conveyor belt systems, rock‑breakers, winches, engines, gearboxes and pulleys.
• Build stakeholder relationships across functional teams to improve delivery and innovation.
• Monitor costs against budget, drive cost efficiencies and support transformation initiatives.
• Integrate HSEQ requirements into all work processes and ensure accurate reporting and governance.

Required profile

• N3 Certificate in Fitting, Mechanical or Boilermaking.
• Trade‑tested artisan with at least 10 years experience in an underground mining environment.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
• Broad mining experience with exposure to multiple trades.
• Proficiency in business English; French and Swahili are advantageous.
