Movement Support Associate

About the role

The Movement Support Associate assists the Migrant Protection Coordinator in managing travel documentation and related processes for migrants and refugees under IOM’s mandate. The role ensures accurate data entry, secure handling of documents, and timely coordination with internal and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Record demographic and biographic information in MiMOSA, confirm receipt to embassies or Resettlement Support Centers, and notify supervisors of new travel requests.
• Secure, store, and account for travel documents following local SOPs and IOM data protection guidelines.
• Process exit permits, coordinate issuance and dispatch of travel documents, and prepare travel‑ready documentation for field support.
• Prepare and deliver reports on documentation receipt, service delivery timelines, and any issues such as permit denials.
• Assist in regular data‑mining reports to keep MiMOSA up‑to‑date and maintain data integrity.
• Provide feedback to supervisors, report problems, and undertake duty travel as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, International Relations, Regional Studies or related field with 3 years of experience.
• Prior experience in movement operations, transportation, or resettlement programs is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
• Fluency in English and French (oral and written) is required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MiMOSA and iGATOR processing systems.
• Computer literacy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Thorough knowledge of English (and French) language.
