Production Director

About the role

The Production Director will lead the launch and ongoing operation of a modern potato processing plant in Lubero, DRC. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for organizing, monitoring and continuously improving all manufacturing activities to meet production, quality, safety and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and supervise daily production activities, ensuring volume, yield and quality objectives are met.
• Optimise the use of equipment, raw materials and human resources while tracking key performance indicators.
• Participate in commissioning of the plant, define standard operating procedures and best manufacturing practices.
• Drive the ramp‑up of production capacity and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Develop technical competencies of the production team through training and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior production leader in an industrial or food‑processing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to launch and scale manufacturing operations.
• Strong understanding of food‑safety, quality standards and cost control.
• Excellent leadership and team‑development skills.
