Programme Officer (PSEA) – Temporary (6 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Programme Officer (PSEA) to support the implementation of the sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) component of the Ebola response plan in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Based in Bunia, the officer will work across Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu, collaborating with government, civil‑society partners and the inter‑agency PSEA network.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the PSEA component of the Ebola response plan.
• Coordinate with the Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) section and Child Protection for community engagement and victim care.
• Represent the Ebola response PSEA Programme Officer in coordination bodies as needed.
• Provide capacity‑building, risk‑mitigation and technical assistance to government and partners.
• Assist victims of sexual exploitation and abuse and ensure timely reporting and response to SEA allegations.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of the senior PSEA Programme Officer.
• Willingness to travel to Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu for missions.
• Strong coordination, adaptability and cultural sensitivity in a complex humanitarian context.
