Security Officer

About the role

Wave is seeking a Security Officer to support its operations across Africa, ensuring the safety of personnel, assets, and operations. The role involves monitoring security developments, advising staff, and building relationships with authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report on nationwide security developments, providing updates to internal teams.
• Advise staff, especially foreign personnel, on security situations, travel restrictions, and incident alerts.
• Protect company assets and personnel by identifying threats and implementing security measures.
• Maintain relationships with law enforcement and civil authorities for coordination and response.
• Respond to security incidents and provide real-time travel guidance.
• Deliver security briefings and conduct training sessions for staff.
• Assist in investigations of vendors, partners, and internal incidents.
• Conduct security assessments and audits for offices and field locations.

Required profile

• Proven track record in operational security, risk management, or safety within the private sector (Fintech, NGO, or Multinationals).
• Strong understanding of field operations, cash management, and agent networks.
• In-depth knowledge of the security landscape in the DRC and a strong local network.
• Relevant degree or professional certifications in security/risk management.
• Fluency in French and local languages.
