Senior Commercial Funding Officer

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser to join Alert’s Resource Development team and expand the commercial funding portfolio. You will work closely with country and technical teams to identify, position, bid for and contract tenders from donors such as the FCDO, EU and USAID. As the framework coordinator you will liaise with partners, donors and internal colleagues to maximise opportunities and manage contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead opportunity identification and positioning for commercial contracts.
• Collaborate with country, regional and technical teams to build a strong commercial pipeline.
• Scan and share suitable funding opportunities, attend early market engagement events.
• Build and maintain relationships with UK, US and European contractors.
• Support pre‑bid partnership positioning, consortium building and go/no‑go decisions.
• Coordinate project design and bid development for commercial funding opportunities.
• Provide written inputs to tender documents and gather required information.
• Work with finance to ensure high‑quality financial and commercial proposals.
• Act as framework coordinator for Alert’s framework agreements.

Required profile

• Expertise in commercial tenders with a proven track record of winning bids.
• Strong understanding of peacebuilding multilateral and bilateral institutions.
• Network of suppliers and/or consultants.
• Ability to provide technical support and guidance to colleagues across different country contexts.
