Senior Field Officer – Immunization Continuity (Ebola Outbreak)

About the role

The Senior Field Officer will provide technical support to health zones affected by the Bundibugyo Virus Disease outbreak, ensuring continuity of routine immunization and vaccination campaigns in Isiro, Haut‑Uele. Reporting to the Vaccine Implementation Country Lead, the officer will work closely with provincial immunization staff, the Ministry of Health and implementing partners.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate planning, monitoring and provincial EPI meetings, consolidate micro‑plans and develop the outbreak response operational plan.
• Lead monitoring, evaluation and vaccination data management, including data quality assessments, DHIS2 reporting, stock inventory and monthly validation meetings.
• Support community engagement by mapping social‑mobilisation structures, addressing barriers to vaccination, mentoring non‑traditional partners and operating a social‑listening system.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Medicine, Public Health or a related field.
• At least three years of experience providing technical assistance to immunization programs at provincial or health‑zone level.
• Strong understanding of vaccination indicators and EPI programming in the DRC.
• Ability to manage sensitive situations in a challenging political environment and communicate effectively with health authorities and communities.
• Fluency in French and relevant local dialects; English proficiency is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with DHIS2 for health information management.
• Experience using mobile data‑collection tools such as ODK or Kobo Collect.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Data analysis and data‑quality assurance methods.
• Computer literacy and ability to produce technical reports.
