Senior Finance and Operations Director

About the role

The Senior Finance and Operations Director (SFOD) leads all finance, administration and operations functions for FHI 360's Democratic Republic of Congo country office and its projects. The role turns organizational and donor requirements into operational processes and works closely with the Regional Hub, the HQ Office of the Chief Financial Officer, donors, auditors, government counterparts and program teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial, administrative and operational initiatives and process improvements across the country office and its projects
• Directly supervise all Finance Leads in DRC, setting goals, assigning work and monitoring performance
• Lead annual budgets, forecasts, pipelines and expenditure analyses across DRC projects
• Ensure compliance with FHI 360 policies, U.S. Government regulations (2 CFR 200, FAR) and DRC laws, and oversee internal and external audits
• Oversee procurement, logistics, IT, administration and general services, and design procedures that improve cost-effectiveness and accountability
• Oversee subawards, from onboarding to close-out, and escalate broader issues to the Country Representative and senior leadership
• Manage the finance, administration and operations functions through direct reports, providing coaching and performance feedback

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Master's in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field)
• Ability to manage multiple teams and stakeholders in a complex, matrixed environment
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication and stakeholder management skills

Required skills

• Accounting, financial controls and financial information systems
• GAAP and knowledge of U.S. Government regulations (2 CFR 200, FAR)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
