Senior Manager Physical Security

About the role

Vodacom is seeking a Senior Manager to lead its physical security function across all sites, facilities and critical infrastructure. The role ensures the safety of employees, customers, assets and operations through robust strategy, governance and incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Define, implement and maintain the local physical security strategy, policies and standards in line with group requirements and local law.
• Oversee security for headquarters, regional offices, technical sites, warehouses, retail outlets and other premises, ensuring effective access control, visitor management, guarding, CCTV monitoring and alarm response.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments, audits and recommend improvements to protect assets and critical network infrastructure.
• Coordinate response to incidents such as theft, intrusion, vandalism, civil unrest and workplace violence, ensuring proper recording, investigation and corrective actions.
• Provide security planning for employee travel, executive movements, high‑risk missions and corporate events.
• Manage outsourced security service providers, monitor performance against service levels and control security budgets.
• Engage with law enforcement, government security bodies and internal stakeholders to share relevant security intelligence.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in physical security within a large, multi‑site organization.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, incident management and business continuity.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including coordination with internal departments and external agencies.
• Ability to develop and enforce security policies while ensuring compliance with legal obligations.
