Senior Nurse – UN Mission in Beni, DRC

About the role

The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission (MONUSCO) in the Democratic Republic of Congo is seeking an experienced Senior Nurse to lead clinical operations at its Beni medical facility. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, you will ensure high‑quality medical care for mission personnel and coordinate emergency medical support.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical activities and manage emergency coverage rosters, including holidays and weekends.
• Plan, requisition, and monitor medical supplies, equipment, and contracts in collaboration with the Pharmacy unit.
• Support CASEVAC/MEDVEAC coordination, mass‑casualty response, and patient evacuation/repatriation.
• Maintain accurate medical records in the EarthMed system and generate required reports and certificates.
• Develop logistic plans for satellite clinics, outreach programs, and isolation centers.
• Organize preventive health training, medical fairs, and public‑health bulletins.
• Provide first‑aid, BLS training, and briefing for incoming staff.
• Assist with invoice verification, contract performance evaluation, and telehealth project support.

Required profile

• Professional nursing qualification with senior‑level experience in field or mission settings.
• Demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams and manage logistics.
• Strong professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• BLS certification and first‑aid expertise.
• Medical record management using EarthMed system.
