About the role
The Social and Behaviour Change Officer (RCCE) will support the design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of evidence‑based risk communication and community engagement interventions for the Ebola response across several provinces in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Working under the guidance of the SBC/RCCE Specialist (P3) and the RCCE Coordinator (P4), the Officer will help promote protective behaviours, strengthen community trust and ensure timely, locally‑adapted response actions.
Key responsibilities
- Generate and monitor evidence, manage community feedback mechanisms and support social listening activities.
- Plan, implement and coordinate field activities, including partnerships, resource use and operational support.
- Provide capacity‑building and learning opportunities for partners and community structures.
Required profile
- University degree in social and behavioural science, sociology, anthropology, communication for development, psychology, public health or a related field.
- Minimum two years of professional experience in social development programme planning, risk communication, community engagement or related areas.
- Fluency in French is required; intermediate English and knowledge of a local language are assets.
- Experience in humanitarian or public‑health emergencies, government coordination and work in insecure or hard‑to‑reach settings is desirable.
