About the role

The Kamoa Copper Mine is seeking two specialised artisans to manage the safe and effective operation of mechanical equipment within the smelter. You will lead a team of assistant mechanics, ensuring reliable plant performance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and ensure safe, effective operation and maintenance of smelter mechanical equipment.
• Oversee maintenance and upkeep of plant machinery to guarantee reliable production.
• Drive problem‑solving initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships across functional teams.
• Coordinate, monitor and supervise the performance of direct reports.
• Monitor costs and expenses to achieve cost efficiencies.
• Support the transformation agenda and integrate HSEQ into all work processes.
• Maintain accurate reporting and adhere to reporting procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a copper smelting plant.
• Proficiency in business English (mandatory); French and Swahili are advantageous.
• Strong leadership, supervisory and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage emergency malfunctions.
