Staff Counsellor (SC 10) – Kinshasa

About the role

Provide culturally sensitive psychosocial support to staff, their families and groups in Kinshasa, ensuring comprehensive assessments and treatment plans, and delivering emergency support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide culturally sensitive psychosocial support to individuals, groups and families, preparing assessments and treatment plans.
• Deliver active psychosocial support during emergencies and after critical incidents.
• Engage with management and staff to build trust‑based relationships.
• Support staff readiness for deployment through briefings, counselling sessions and related activities.
• Deliver workshops and trainings on stress management, team‑building, problem‑solving, conflict resolution, etc.
• Contribute to corporate policy design, information booklets and materials to promote staff welfare.
• Lead the establishment and capacity building of a Peer Support Volunteers network.
• Prepare comprehensive reports, plan budgets for missions and trainings, and implement counselling activities.
• Maintain professional confidentiality, uphold ethics and remain approachable to staff.
• Collaborate with management to develop and update staff welfare policies and guidelines.
• Coordinate with Peer Support Volunteers to deliver peer‑to‑peer assistance.
