Supply and Logistics Officer – Temporary (6 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Supply and Logistics Officer to support the Ebola emergency response in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This six‑month temporary appointment will be based in Goma and will provide technical and operational assistance to ensure the timely delivery of critical supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, procure, and contract essential goods and services for the response.
• Manage customs clearance, warehousing, inventory, and stock control.
• Coordinate in‑country transportation, fleet management, and last‑mile distribution of time‑critical IPC commodities.
• Monitor safe storage and handling of supplies throughout the supply chain.
• Collaborate with programme teams to align supply interventions with child‑focused objectives.
• Provide advisory support to government counterparts and implementing partners on logistics matters.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in supply chain or logistics management, preferably in humanitarian or health emergencies.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt to evolving contexts, and respect cultural sensitivities.
• Strong coordination and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
