Supply and Logistics Officer (Temporary, 6 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Supply and Logistics Officer to support the Ebola emergency response in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This six‑month temporary appointment will be based in the Goma field office and will provide technical and operational logistics support to ensure timely delivery of critical supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, procure, and contract essential goods and services for the emergency response.
• Manage customs clearance, warehousing, inventory, and stock control.
• Coordinate in‑country transportation, fleet management, and last‑mile distribution of time‑critical IPC commodities.
• Monitor safe storage and handling of supplies throughout the supply chain.
• Collaborate with programme teams to define supply interventions that meet child‑focused objectives.
• Provide advisory support to government counterparts, national systems, and implementing partners on logistics management.

Required profile

• Experience in supply chain or logistics operations within humanitarian or health emergencies.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt to evolving contexts, and maintain cultural sensitivity.
• Strong coordination skills and ability to work closely with programme and government stakeholders.
