Supply & Logistics Specialist (P-3, 6-month TA)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Supply & Logistics Specialist on a six‑month temporary assignment to support emergency response operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Reporting to the Chief, Supply and Logistics Manager, the specialist will manage supply chain activities for a small country office and contribute to the delivery of life‑saving services for children and vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end supply chain operations including planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, in‑country transportation and distribution.
• Monitor supplies, services and construction works to ensure compliance with UNICEF standards.
• Collaborate with programme teams to design and implement supply interventions that meet programmatic needs.
• Provide technical and advisory support to government authorities, national systems and implementing partners on supply chain management.
• Assist in strengthening operational effectiveness, compliance and sustainability of supply processes.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in supply chain management, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to work in complex, insecure environments and adapt to rapidly changing situations.
• Strong coordination and communication skills with a focus on child‑centered outcomes.
