Business Development Support Officer

About the role

The Business Development Support Officer will provide comprehensive administrative, research and coordination assistance to the Business Development Manager and, when required, to the Chief Executive. This role is pivotal in identifying funding opportunities, developing bids and maintaining strong partnerships to support the organisation's strategic aims.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver day‑to‑day confidential administrative support to the Business Development Manager and Chief Executive.
• Research and summarise potential partnership and funding opportunities.
• Gather background data, draft sections of bid documents and prepare paperwork for final sign‑off.
• Maintain accurate data records and ensure effective communication with existing and prospective partners.
• Take ownership of bid development when multiple funding calls arise.
• Identify gaps in service provision by compiling and analysing relevant information.

Required profile

• Good understanding of the business development cycle.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively at all levels.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Proactive, solution‑focused approach and ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for engaging with funders, partners, staff and volunteers.
• Ability to gather, understand and summarise data to support funding strategies.
