Researcher – ADF/ISCAP Conflict Analyst in Beni

About the role

Bridgeway Foundation is seeking an experienced researcher to join its new wellness centre in Beni, North Kivu. The role focuses on gathering high‑quality, consistent information about the ADF/ISCAP insurgency from the Congolese side, supporting programmes that encourage peaceful defections and provide rehabilitation to former combatants and abductees.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and document in‑depth interviews with former ADF/ISCAP members and victims.
• Maintain and update databases tracking ADF/ISCAP incidents, leadership, and territorial activity.
• Verify incidents in the Beni, Irumu, and Mambasa territories.
• Provide analytical input for monthly operational reports.
• Support the Bridgeway Congo team with additional tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Fluency in French and Swahili.
• Proven experience conducting in‑depth interviews (e.g., legal depositions).
• Adaptability to varied work environments and strong self‑motivation.
• Ability to manage exposure to traumatic content; mental‑health self‑care routine required.
