Emergency Services Coordinator

About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent of Emergency Management, the Emergency Services Coordinator leads emergency operations at Mutanda Mining. The role ensures rapid, safe response to incidents, protects personnel and assets, and oversees the entire incident command process.

Key responsibilities

• Train, coach and guide supervisors in fire administration and emergency operations.
• Develop and monitor daily contingency schedules and ensure compliance.
• Create, coordinate and deliver essential training modules for emergency response.
• Maintain electronic and paper records of critical inspections, training, and equipment.
• Plan and conduct monthly emergency exercises.
• Lead fire‑prevention discussions and inspections across all MUMI facilities.
• Supervise inspections of fire trucks, extinguishers, smoke detectors, hydrants, hoses, and related safety equipment.
• Verify breathing apparatus and other personal protective gear according to procedures.
• Ensure the emergency response hub is ready for rapid team deployment.

Required profile

• University degree in technical sciences or a related field.
• Certificate confirming non‑claustrophobia.
• First‑aid or BLS certification.
• Facilitator and Evaluator certification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in mining.
• Experience as a fire lieutenant or equivalent fire‑fighting background.
• Fluency in French; English fluency is a strong advantage.
