Founding Senior Data Engineer

About the role

VectorOne is building the next‑generation office of the CFO and needs a senior data engineer to set the standard for data excellence. You will work closely with product and industry experts to turn complex financial data into reliable, secure, and actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce data‑engineering best practices, including unit/integration testing, schema validation, and reconciliation processes.
• Ensure data lineage, governance, and security through encryption, obfuscation, and row/column‑level access controls.
• Design, build, and maintain reusable data‑engineering libraries (UDFs, macros, Python functions) that standardize transformations across the platform.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to unpack requirements, prioritize business value, and push back on low‑impact requests.
• Monitor data completeness and accuracy, implementing automated quality checks.

Required profile

• Senior‑level data engineering experience with a strong focus on data quality and security.
• Ability to understand the business “why” behind data pipelines and translate it into robust technical solutions.
• Proven track record of building reusable, well‑tested data components.

Required skills
