Head of Metallurgy & Processing

About the role

Auremin is building a copper and cobalt processing platform across the Central African Copperbelt. We are looking for a senior leader to head our Metallurgy & Processing function, shaping strategy and guiding technical decisions that unlock value from ore, stockpiles and tailings.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the metallurgy and processing strategy for all copper and cobalt projects.
• Evaluate ore bodies, stockpiles and tailings to select optimal processing routes (DMS, flotation, hydrometallurgy, SX‑EW).
• Develop recovery models and metallurgical assessments that drive investment decisions.
• Conduct due diligence for acquisitions, partnerships and toll‑treatment opportunities.
• Oversee sampling programmes, laboratory tests and pilot‑plant campaigns.
• Provide technical oversight to EPC contractors, engineering consultants and process designers.
• Support feasibility studies, project development, commissioning and operational optimisation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in mineral processing, recovery and beneficiation for copper and cobalt.
• Proven ability to translate technical data into commercial decisions.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Track record of delivering successful metallurgical projects in Africa or similar mining regions.
