Marine Engineer – Offshore Oil & Gas

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Marine Engineer to support the Marine Manager in coordinating marine activities and ensuring Class compliance for offshore assets. The role acts as a central liaison between the company, classification societies, contractors, and offshore teams, guaranteeing that marine assets meet regulatory and classification standards while enabling safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate technical and operational activities for offshore marine assets.
• Manage inspections, maintenance, repairs, and Class compliance actions.
• Maintain Class action registers and ensure timely closure of recommendations.
• Interface with Classification Society surveyors and internal engineering teams.
• Support offshore inspections, modifications, shutdowns, and asset integrity projects.
• Oversee contractors, monitor project progress, KPIs, budgets, and risks.
• Assist with technical scopes, tenders, bid evaluations, and contractor selection.
• Collaborate with HSE, Logistics, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, Class rules, and HSE procedures.
• Conduct regular offshore visits to supervise activities and coordinate with operational teams.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc or engineering degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore oil & gas, marine operations or asset integrity.
• Proven experience in offshore inspections, repairs and marine projects.
• Proactive, autonomous, analytical, detail‑oriented and strong team player.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of Classification Society requirements and asset integrity.
• Excellent organizational, coordination and reporting abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with project management tools.
• Technical documentation and dossier management expertise.
