Quantity Surveyor – Major Building Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our international consultancy team on large‑scale building construction projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role involves comprehensive cost management, quantity surveying, and project controls throughout design and construction supervision phases.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quantity take‑offs, cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs) and tender documentation.
• Monitor project costs, variations and financial performance across the project lifecycle.
• Support design and construction supervision teams with cost planning and contract administration.
• Review contractor valuations, change orders, claims and final accounts.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective cost control and timely project delivery.
• Utilise project management software for scheduling, programming, coordination, cost modelling and project monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in quantity surveying for building construction projects.
• Proven expertise in cost estimating, BOQ preparation, contract administration and cost control.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and best practices in quantity surveying.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication abilities.
• Fluency in English; French is an advantage.
