Senior Mechanical Technician – Power Plant

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Technician will support the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems and Cummins engine equipment at our power plant. The role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, performing preventive maintenance and minimizing downtime to keep plant operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with routine inspections, diagnostics and repairs of Cummins engines and related mechanical components.
• Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements and gasket repairs.
• Monitor mechanical system parameters, record operational data and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear appropriate PPE and participate in safety meetings and training.
• Collaborate with senior technicians and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently and support junior team members.
• Help manage spare parts and tool inventory, reporting shortages or damaged items.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with mechanical systems, preferably in power generation or with Cummins engines.
• Ability to read technical manuals, drawings and maintenance procedures.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends and overtime as needed.
• Physically capable of performing maintenance in varied environments.
