Advisor – Load & Haul Breakdowns

About the role

The Advisor – Load & Haul Breakdowns provides specialised technical expertise for diagnosing and resolving faults in underground loading and transport equipment. Reporting to the Superintendent – Underground Mobile Equipment Maintenance, the role aims to minimise downtime and ensure safe, efficient equipment return to service.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose complex failures in loaders, trucks and related equipment, identifying root causes.
• Provide technical support during major repairs and equipment recovery operations.
• Verify repair quality through inspections, functional tests and safety checks before returning equipment to service.
• Analyse failure modes, maintenance history and operating conditions to recommend corrective actions.
• Document breakdowns, causes, repairs and parts used in SAP and coordinate interventions with manufacturers.
• Develop technical skills of mechanics and electricians through training on advanced diagnostics and repair methods.

Required profile

• Degree or licence in mechanical, electrical or heavy‑equipment engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least ten years of experience maintaining underground mobile mining or heavy industrial equipment.
• Experience with Sandvik and/or Caterpillar equipment, SAP or a computerized maintenance management system, and maintenance planning.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, develop staff and lead technical teams.
