Superintendent – Underground Planning

About the role

The Kibali Gold Mine is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead underground planning activities. You will mentor engineering teams, drive budget and schedule development, and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, track and mentor the annual mine budget and forward planning.
• Lead, train and coach short‑term, mid‑term and drill‑and‑blast engineering teams.
• Monitor fleet expenses, performance metrics and integrate new technology to improve reliability.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 standards and promote a zero‑harm safety culture.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mining, Geological or Civil Engineering; MSc/MEng preferred.
• 7‑10 years of experience in mine planning, budgeting and scheduling.
• Proven track record leading mining engineering teams and delivering results.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Deswik and other mine planning software.
• Strong analytical skills for budgeting, scheduling and KPI tracking.
• Experience in drill‑and‑blast design and fleet data management.
• Good understanding of geotechnics, geology and various mining methods.
