Country Director for Democratic Republic of Congo

About the role

The Country Director for the Democratic Republic of Congo will provide strategic and operational leadership for World Relief’s program portfolio, ensuring high‑impact humanitarian and development response across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a country strategy aligned with World Relief’s mission, Core Humanitarian Standards and local partner priorities.
• Oversee financial management, donor relations, team security and day‑to‑day operations, including monitoring, evaluation and staff performance.
• Lead senior management in business development, resource mobilization and representation with government, UN agencies and other partners.
• Travel frequently to project sites within and outside of Goma.

Required profile

• Mature personal Christian faith and commitment to World Relief’s core beliefs.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership in international relief or 7 years in business management.
• Experience administering U.S. government and UN grants.
• Ability to relocate and reside in the DRC.

Required skills

• Strong oral and written communication in French and English.
• Proven leadership of multicultural teams and donor‑supported programs.
• Strategic planning, resource mobilization and multi‑project budgeting.
