Director - Strategic Projects & Infrastructure

About the role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Director – Strategic Projects & Infrastructure will lead the origination, structuring and execution of Africa Global Logistics’ key strategic projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role sits at the intersection of business development, project finance and delivery, with regular interaction with senior government officials, partners and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and prioritize strategic infrastructure and logistics opportunities across the DRC, including ports, river transport, airports, dry ports and logistics hubs.
• Lead the structuring of complex projects, designing PPP frameworks, concession agreements, commercial models and risk‑allocation mechanisms.
• Coordinate feasibility studies covering technical, financial, legal and environmental dimensions and manage external advisors.
• Develop robust business cases, build and challenge financial models (CAPEX, OPEX, traffic assumptions, IRR, NPV) and support financing strategies with DFIs and banks.
• Drive projects from concept to implementation, ensuring timelines, governance frameworks, milestones and performance tracking are met.
• Engage senior public stakeholders, regulatory authorities and state‑owned entities, and manage relationships with strategic partners, investors and industrial clients.
• Maintain a clear pipeline of strategic projects, define resource allocation and oversee portfolio‑level performance.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in infrastructure project development, preferably in logistics, transport or related sectors.
• Strong track record in PPP and concession structuring, financial modelling and investment analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex stakeholder environments.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience working with government ministries and state‑owned entities.
• Fluency in English; French is an advantage.
