Field Service Technician – Heavy Equipment

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Field Service Technician to join BIABIA Group’s team in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role involves delivering effective technical interventions on heavy equipment used in public works, mining, quarrying and transport, ensuring high customer satisfaction under our maintenance contracts and SLA agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Erect, configure, modify, maintain, troubleshoot and repair field equipment following shop manuals and OEM standards.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximise equipment availability and utilisation.
• Follow planning instructions, complete required reporting and uphold BIABIA’s values on site.
• Maintain safe working conditions for yourself, co‑workers, visitors and subcontractors, complying with HSE policies.
• Identify, record and report health, safety and environmental issues, and participate in mandatory HSE events.
• Use and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment and act responsibly at all times.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Heavy Equipment or a related field.
• Proven experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, preferably in mining, construction or heavy‑machinery environments.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and service documentation.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
