Fixed Wing Chief Pilot

About the role

The Fixed Wing Chief Pilot will report to the Flight Operations Manager and lead all fixed‑wing operations for Starlite Aviation Group across Africa. The role ensures the highest standards of aviation safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain all flying standards and ensure compliance with SACAA Part 135 regulations.
• Oversee pilot employment, scheduling, qualifications, and documentation.
• Develop and update manuals, policies, and company procedures.
• Appoint key positions and liaise effectively with inter‑company departments.
• Chair meetings, give presentations, and manage conflicts.

Required profile

• More than 5 years of commercial flight operations experience, preferably in a senior pilot or chief pilot role.
• Strong leadership, calm disposition, and ability to balance people‑care with discipline.
• Excellent decision‑making, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Experience in contract environments and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Rating on BE20 and B190D aircraft types.
• In‑depth knowledge of SACAA regulations and Part 135 processes.
• Familiarity with large jet or turboprop operations, Part 121, and UN/EU/WFP missions (preferred).
• Experience with air‑ambulance, military, or police co‑op flight operations (preferred).
