Foreman Electrical Controls & Instrumentation

About the role

The Kamoa Copper Mine is seeking a Foreman to lead a small team of specialists responsible for installing, maintaining and monitoring instrumentation systems across the mine. The role ensures that equipment such as variable speed drives, pump stations, fans and conveyor belts operate reliably to support continuous mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install and commission instrumentation and control systems, including SCADA, PLC and variable speed drives.
• Monitor and troubleshoot instrumentation performance to guarantee optimal operation.
• Lead a team of instrument technicians, providing direction, training and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive problem‑solving, continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.
• Integrate HSEQ considerations into all work processes and maintain accurate reporting and governance documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma and trade‑tested qualification as an Instrument Technician.
• Minimum 6 years of experience installing and monitoring instrumentation in a mining environment.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong analytical mindset, risk awareness and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal.
• Experience using Siemens WinCC Professional and WinCC OA.
• Knowledge of OPC UA server integration.
• Understanding of SCADA, PLC systems and fault‑finding techniques.
