Head of Department – Finance

About the role

The Head of Department – Finance will lead the Finance function for Kamoto Copper Company’s large‑scale copper and cobalt operations in Kolwezi, DRC. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent ensures a robust internal control environment and provides reliable financial information to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial activities, including accounting, planning & analysis, treasury, costing, internal control, statutory reporting and financial systems.
• Maintain internal policies, procedures and controls that comply with legal requirements and Glencore Group standards.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders on mine life plans, annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
• Produce reports on operating costs, capital expenditures and working capital to support performance management.
• Manage monthly closing, ensure integrity of the general ledger, perform balance‑sheet analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Provide stakeholders with financial analyses, insights and recommendations.
• Oversee controls for commercial transactions and contract management.
• Maintain the site’s internal control framework, including risk assessments and testing of key financial controls.
• Ensure proper segregation of duties, system access controls and adherence to Delegation of Authority limits.
• Close internal and external audit findings and report control status to the CFO.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a finance function in a large industrial or mining environment.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and statutory reporting requirements.
• Ability to work closely with senior management and cross‑functional teams.
