Health Specialist (NO-C) – Fixed Term in Kananga, DRC

About the role

The Health Specialist will report to the Chief Field Office and support the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a sector of UNICEF's health programme in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role focuses on areas such as gender, maternal, neonatal, and child survival/development.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development, planning and results‑based management.
• Manage and monitor programme delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic plans and performance standards.
• Provide technical guidance and operational support throughout the programme cycle.
• Build partnerships and networks with government, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and other health‑sector stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, nutrition, pediatric health, health policy, epidemiology or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in public health planning, maternal and neonatal health, or health emergency preparedness.
• Fluency in French; knowledge of another UN language or local language is desirable.
