HR Generalist

About the role
AGI is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support its Winnipeg operations. The role blends administrative and strategic HR functions, helping to create a productive and positive workplace culture across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with leaders, HR Business Partners, shared services, and Centers of Excellence to support the North America HR operating model and ensure consistent execution of employee lifecycle processes.
- Provide day‑to‑day HR guidance on employee relations, performance, attendance, discipline, accommodations, leaves, return‑to‑work, and conflict resolution, escalating complex matters as needed.
- Administer HR policies, procedures, programs, and compliance requirements, including handbook updates and investigations.
- Coordinate recruitment support, onboarding, orientation, 30/60/90‑day check‑ins, employee transitions, and exit interview processes.
- Support performance management, talent review, succession planning, employee development, engagement, retention actions, and organizational training initiatives.
- Assist with compensation, benefits, wellness, and job architecture processes, handling job description updates and employee inquiries.
- Maintain accurate HRIS, payroll, time‑and‑attendance, and employee record data; prepare reports and track follow‑up actions.
- Prepare clear HR communications, employee notices, manager talking points, and change‑management materials for policy and organizational initiatives.
Required profile
- Demonstrated ability to provide HR guidance to managers and employees across a range of issues.
- Experience administering HR policies, investigations, and compliance with federal and provincial employment legislation.
- Proven track record coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and employee transition activities.
- Strong capability in supporting performance management, talent development, and engagement programs.
- Ability to maintain accurate HR data and generate insightful reports.
Required skills
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, and time‑and‑attendance systems.
- Knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Recruitment, onboarding, and employee‑relations expertise.
- Excellent written communication skills for preparing HR notices and change‑management materials.
