Migrant Protection Officer (P)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Migrant Protection Officer (P) to join its team in Kinshasa. The officer will support IOM’s protection mandate by ensuring the rights and safety of migrants and displaced persons are respected and upheld.

Key responsibilities

• Implement IOM’s protection approach in coordination with government and partner agencies.
• Provide direct assistance and case management to vulnerable migrants.
• Facilitate dialogue and advocacy to promote humane migration policies.
• Collect and analyze data on protection risks and incidents.
• Contribute to the design and delivery of protection‑related training and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in migration, international relations, law, or a related field.
• Experience working in migration, humanitarian, or protection contexts.
• Strong understanding of international protection standards and human rights frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work in multicultural environments.
