Regional Sales Manager Lubumbashi

About the role

BIC World is looking for a Regional Sales Manager for Lubumbashi and the surrounding area in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role develops BIC sales in the region in line with BIC objectives, works with local distributors to deliver sales targets, manages the dedicated BIC sales force and delivers secondary sales and SFA metrics. About 70% of the time is spent on the field.

Key responsibilities

• Implement RTM and work with local distributors; analyse the distribution network and route to market
• Manage the BIC sales force, train and support local distributors and the sales team, and deliver SFA metrics (coverage, strike rate, basket size)
• Support the Business Analyst and SFA team with accurate secondary sales reports and optimised sales routes
• Lead distributor relationships with key accounts, follow up marketing plans with the BIC WACA Marketing Team, and collect receivables and manage credit notes
• Ensure forecast accuracy through a 3+3 order process (3 months firm orders, 3 months forecast) and manage trade support and expense reimbursements
• Identify growth opportunities, optimise product mix per outlet and run POSM and promotions through shelf-space optimisation
• Carry out regular field visits to analyse market trends, competitive pricing, new launches and anti-counterfeiting surveillance

Required profile

• At least 3-5 years in a sales management or BDM role in FMCG or consumer goods in DRC, preferably Lubumbashi
• Fluent English and French; knowledge of local languages is a plus
• Valid driving licence; international mobility is a plus
• No direct people management required

Required skills

• Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
• Desired: some trade marketing experience
